Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT). He is the director of the
Whitehead Institute
and a
Howard Hughes Medical Institute
(HHMI) investigator. He is best known for his work on mapping the
Y-chromosome
and on its evolution in mammals and expression during development.
