Background and Foreground: Connections and Distinctions When Health Professions Faculty Teach Both Interprofessional Collaborative Practice and Quality Improvement—A Case Study
Published 2025-02-01“…CONCLUSIONS The MU case elucidates the potential synergies that occur when faculty address quality improvement and interprofessional collaborative practice competencies with an integrated approach that leverages connections, while also respecting distinctions. For health professions education programs looking to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their curricular approach to these fields, it may be fruitful to consider ICP as background and QI as foreground, remembering that without each other, ICP risks losing meaning and QI risks losing impact.…”

Effect of Scapular Retraction on Lower Trapezius, Infraspinatus, and Deltoid Muscle Electromyographic Activity During the Side-Lying Abduction Exercise
Published 2023-06-01“…All the subjects performed isometric resistance exercises in four arm positions: 0° horizontal abduction from the coronal plane (NEUT) with protraction (NEUT-PRO), 15° horizontal adduction from the coronal plane (HADD) with protraction (HADD-PRO), and NEUT with retraction (NEUT-RET), and HADD-RET in a side-lying isometric abduction exercise with two external loads: a 9.1 kg dumbbell and 40% of the manual muscle test (MMT). The subjects also performed two more isometric resistance exercises: supine protraction and side-lying external rotation (ER) of the glenohumeral (GH) joint in GH adduction at 90° of GH ER or with as much ER as possible. …”

Study on the Impact of Climate Warming on Mariculture in China
Published 2024-09-01“…The results show that: (1) Although there are inter-annual fluctuations and regional differencesin temperature changes among provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) there is an upward trend on the whole, confirming the macro background of global warming. (2) The overall output of mariculture in China is generally on the rise, especially in Liaoning, Shandong, Fujian, Guangdong and other provinces, which have become the core regions of mariculture in China. (3) Through in-depth analysis of the correlation between the temperature and the mariculture yield, it is found that there is a significant negative relationship between the two, that is, every 1% increase in temperature will lead to a decrease of about 2.65% in the mariculture yield. Further research also reveals that in different marine industrial economic circles, the impact of climate warming on mariculture output is significantly different, which has a certain promoting effect in the Yangtze River Delta economic circle, while it has an obvious inhibitory effect in the Bohai Rim economic circle and the Pearl River Delta economic circle. …”
